Digital Fairytale - Honors Seminar V
Digital Fairytale was one of my first global learning course at FIU. The course was focused on evaluating the disruption of the "Smart-phone Era" and the Internet of Things have had on our holistic living experience. In this course I learned about modern technology and how it is positively impacting people around the world. This course opened up my eyes to how I perceive modern technology.
Introduction to Marketing
In this course, I studied how delivering valuable marketing can satisfy consumers needs and wants. As well as which products and services can be used to serve the market. It was interesting to learn about basic marketing tactics and the different strategies large companies use to grow their consumers.
This course gave me a basic understanding of marketing and through this course I found a new interest.
International Finance
In this course, I had the opportunity to collaborate with students from Columbia on a project analyzing a company based in Columbia. Working with people outside of the U.S was a new experience. Initially there were many challenges such as a language barriers and time zone complications. However, these new challenges allowed to gain real life experiences of working with others from another country and expand my global perspective.
Strategic Management
The course focuses on a firm's goals of creating value and succeeding in a highly competitive and global marketplace. Throughout this course I learned about the steps that go into strategic management as well as how to build a strategy and assessing strategy through a strategic audit.This course revealed how interconnected our world truly is and how companies have to think about inside and outside of the borders they operate.
Introduction to Environmental Science
The Earth connects every human to one another which is why learning to take care of our planet is important for a better future. In this course I learned about the harmful effects of climate change and the need for environmental reform. Prior to this course I had a basic understanding of the environment and the impact of climate change. However after taking this course my knowledge grew and I have a greater understanding of how I leave an impact on the planet. After taking this course I am more mindful of the products I buy, my carbon footprint, and the impact I leave on the planet.
